Pool Progress

This site is dedicated to bringing all of us that surf up to date information on the development progress and status of the Ron Jon Surfpark located in Orlando, Florida. This is the only resource providing you with up to date photos of the wave parks progress from start to finish.

The Ron Jon Surfpark is located on International Drive in the Festival Bay shopping plaza. Ron Jon Surfpark promises to be the best surf experience for any surfer, intermediate to advanced level. This wave pool is a first of its kind with a completely adjustable VersaReef floor system developed by Amalgamates Solutions and Research which allows for customizable wave sizes of up to 8 feet with barrelling sections and wave directions allowing for continuous rides of up to 70 meters with no less than 25% wave size degredation from start to finish. HOLY WOW! Wave generation, the Groundswell system, is provided by ASR's partner Aquatic Development Group which can pump up to 6 waves per minute at 10-15 second intervals.

As a surfer myself, I am really looking forward to getting wet on a weekly basis without the need to drive over an hour to get to the better surf spots like cocoa beach pier, the streets, 2nd light, grants, satellite and the boardwalk. Believe me I have made the door to door trip from Orlando to these breaks at least once a week for the past 10 years and it's a mind numbing killer. With high gas prices, any Orlando local will agree, If they can pump good juice, we're there! Thanks to Ron Jon, ASR, ADG, Belz and everyone else who are making inland wave's possible. Talk about buying barrels!

Not much visual progress for this update. Looks like the wall is growing and the hole too. I hope everyone is digging the photos.

Back with the latest. Looks like the fun is on its way. They craned in piece by piece. From what I understand they will be pouring the pool very soon. Should be pretty interesting stuff. I hope everyone is digging the photos. It's hard to believe we will all have a place to surf on flat summer days.
